Angeles Forest with quiet biking & great views of Los Angeles. Fast-paced climbing ride.
This is a 3-4 hour ride in the mountains with occasional high-speed traffic whizzing by.
On circular routes, multiple meet-ups enable us to rejoin en route. On out & back routes, we rejoin on the descents back to La Canada. If you check in at SBUX by 5:50am prior to the ride, we will not leave you.
6:00am clip-in & go to avoid traffic. Back by 9:30am/10am.
This is a ride that requires you have a rear view mirror & use it. Hear a vehicle behind you - look at it! |

Starbucks - 475 Foothill Blvd, La Canada. Early start to avoid traffic. Please arrive by 5:30 for coffee, croissants & bike prep. 6:00am clip-in & launch.
Regroup at points along the route for safety. We all come back down to SBUX together.
Please have rear view mirror(s), helmet, bottles, snacks, phone, tail & head lights, flat kit, & spare tubes.
On descents, please avoid: (1) 40 mph descents, (2) aero position, (3) weaving around (passing) vehicles, or (4) drafting behind vehicles. The "hay bales" on the side of the road are granite, not hay.
Ride is strenuous with several inherent risks. Please be conservative with risks. Have fun.
When you hear racing or squealing tires behind you, please take a few seconds to get off the road.
Don't stay on the road if you hear racing. Get completely off the road & look at the crazy racers as they pass you at 60 mph. Focusing on the threat greatly reduces risk. |
