Injury Prevention for Triathletes
|
Description |
Excessive repetition of the same movement can lead to pain and injury. Triathlon training is an excellent way of combining some of the most powerful exercises and to promote cross training. However, there are some unique considerations triathletes need to keep in mind in order to prevent injury and improve outcomes.
This clinic will teach you how to incorporate the following into your training routines to avoid injury:
1 - Three dimensional exercises. Running, biking, and swimming are all in the same plane of movement called the sagittal plane. Discover strengthening and stretching exercises in the frontal and transverse plane that should be added to your training.
2 - Deeper Understanding of pre- and post-event stretching routines. Learn how different forms of stretching are more beneficial for pre- vs. post-event routines.
3 - Use of myofascial release strategies. Including massage therapy, foam rolling, and other forms of body support. |
