Head to Olvera Street and partake in the inaugural Carrera de los Muertos / Run of the Dead. While the event takes place on Halloween, this is not a Halloween event. Day of the Dead focuses on celebrating the memories of loved ones that have passed on.
Tradition includes face painting to resemble skulls, decorating altars with bright orange marigold flowers, candles, photos and other memorabilia. There will be face painters on site and an official Runners Altar for participants to decorate.
This event offers a scenic 5k route on the historic streets of Los Angeles. |
