June Lake Sprint Triathlon
Description SPRINT: SWIM – 1⁄4 mi out and back swim in shallower and warmer part of lake. JUNE LAKE WATER TEMP: currently 62ºF-65ºF – WETSUITS OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED! BIKE – 8 mile loop leave campground area and Right onto Northshore Drive Right onto Highway 158 through the town of June Lake Sharp Right (this is a turn that you don’t want to miss – otherwise you are on the Olympic course) back onto Northshore Drive (across from June Mountain Ski Area) uphill Pass Aid Station #3 (Mammoth Hospital Aid Station) (Sprint Run Turn-around) Right onto Pinecliff road and down beach road to June Lake Swim Beach RUN – 2.25 miles OUT & BACK Head to beach out of transition area Sharp Right up steep 4WD road, Right for out and back section on dirt to Aid Station #2 turn-around, head back up to original 4WD road and turn Right, and then Sharp Right to get to gate and paved road. Turn Sharp Left at green gate, Northshore Drive (paved road) Straight (hilly) out to Aid Station #3 and SPRINT RUN TURN-AROUND and head back to finish line!
