Deathride - Tour of the California Alps
Description Recognized as one of the premier cycling events in America's West, the Alpine County Chamber of Commerce invites you to participate in the Death Ride®, while enjoying the magnificent scenery and warm hospitality of Alpine County! Registration takes place and the ride ends at Turtle Rock Park just north of Markleeville, California, the five pass ride includes 129 miles and 15,000 feet of lung busting climbing. You also have the option of riding one, two, three or four passes. For your safety, the first four passes will be closed at specific times to vehicular traffic. This year’s ride returns riders to our infamous five pass course including: Monitor Pass (8,314') Ebbetts Pass (8,730') Carson Pass (8,573') Five pass finishers will receive a five-pass pin and be eligible to purchase an exclusive five-pass finisher jersey.

Comments Located in the stunning California Alps, the Death Ride® course covers the traditional five mountain passes. This super challenging course includes climbing both sides of Monitor Pass, both sides of Ebbetts Pass, and the final climb up the east side of Carson Pass. Cyclists will register and finish at Turtle Rock Park, located two miles north of Markleeville, CA.
