Meet Chris Foster
Description How does a guy go from running killer steeplechase races in college to competing in triathlon? How does he go from doing side-splitting miles, including a 4:01 mile PR, to deciding he wants to swim and bike before running (sub-) 5 min miles? How did it feel to outsprint Macca at the Malibu Triathlon? The transitions seem almost natural. Local professional triathlete, Chris Foster, will tell you why and how he did it. He will also share his first-hand experience of how it is to live the life of a pro short-course triathlete--traveling to crazy places, dealing with the stress of multiple huge races, the toll of constant racing, and more. And...find out how Chris has been able to rise above his crazy (not to mention bloody) injuries, during the peak of this race season to continue to climb the point rankings of ITU triathlon, becoming 14th (as of Aug. 6) on the 5150 World Points Ranking and qualifying for Hy-Vee this year. Join us for this night of fun, laughs, and inspiration. Bring your friends! As usual, we will have light snacks and refreshments.
