TOWER 26® Open Water Beach Workout
Description When - Wednesday at 6:00A starting May 18 and ending in late-October-ish. BE PROMPT. We will start at 6:00AM.

What - A targeted open water swim workout to familiarize participants with tactics, strategies, and the exposure to open water race situations. Athletes will swim circuits around various buoy courses practicing entry and exit, sighting, pack and paceline swimming in a fast paced, dynamic environment to prepare you for all of the variables racing has to offer.

How long is this workout? - About 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Depending on your speed and the workout you may be doing 2-5 loops of the course with other drills towards the end.

Who - *** This is not a beginner workout. You must be able to swim 1,000 yards without stopping; approximately 2:45/100 yard speed; about 45 min mile speed or faster; 25 minute for short Malibu tri; 1-hour for a 70.3 swim; or under 2 hours for an Ironman swim. Wetsuits strongly recommended.

Comments Where - Ocean Park Blvd. meets Barnard Way. Meet at the Tower 26 lifeguard stand. Parking is available at the meters in the lot East of the beach or there is free parking off of Ocean Park.
