As part of the Southwest Region’s continuing commitment to youth development in multisport,
2011 brings with it a new exciting opportunity for triathletes ages 12 to 17!
New for 2011 is the introduction of the SW Region F1 series. The four race series will help transition young triathletes from the entry-level youth or “kids” race format into draft-legal Youth Elite and Junior Elite competition. Athletes between the ages of 12 and 17 (as of 12/31 of the competition year) are eligible to compete in the series. The distances for the swim, bike and run will be approximately 250-400 meters, 7-10km and 2-2.5 km respectively. The swim is in open water and the bike leg is draft legal.
