Los Angeles Triathlon Club
Bike Event
TriChicks - Barb's Race Training Group
Description Ride 2.5 hours, 75 min. each way out and back, on Pacific Coast Highway. Figure on riding between 20 and 37 miles, depending on your endurance, comfort and speed on the bike. The purpose of today's workout is to add distance. Go at a pace that is comfortable for you. We are building a base, riding at a low heart rate, and getting used to a long workout. Regrouping spots -- Neptune's Net, Big Rock, Las Posas. There are restrooms at the Sycamore Grove and other campgrounds along PCH. Bring water, flat change supplies and extra tubes, a snack like an energy gel or bar for each hour of riding, your mobile phone if you carry one, ID and a few bucks just in case. Maybe today is the day you get past Big Rock for the first time? Those who ride the farthest will pass Big Rock, then get off PCH at Las Posas. It's obvious because if you don't get off there, you're on the freeway, not a good place for a bicycle. When you get to Las Posas, turn left, go over the overpass, and get back on PCH on the other side of the highway. Bring your shoes if you'd like to do a short run afterwards. Tina and Sharon
