Jennifer Kramer Santa Monica, Calif. Sports: Triathlon, running, yoga, hiking Age: 33 Profession: Esthetician and owner of Corrective Skincare This triathlete grew up a as a tomboy, playing volleyball, basketball and soccer. In college, she wanted to try something new and joined the track team. Now shes training for her first Ironman -- shes hired a coach and is taking swim lessons. This is the first time I feel a competitive edge, and Im having a blast! How I got started in sports: I was a tomboy growing up and played basketball, soccer and volleyball. In college, I joined the track team and began running for fun. An old boyfriend introduced me to triathlon a few years ago, and after we broke up, I joined the L.A. Tri Club and started training for my first Ironman, the Coeur d'Alene Idaho in June. Favorite spot to be active: Running: the Santa Monica Pier or Venice Beach. Cycling: the Santa Monica Mountains. Life/sport philosophy: Enjoy the ride. Athletic highlights: Signing up for an Ironman within the first year of getting on a bike and swimming in the ocean. Athletic goals: To complete the Coeur d'Alene and to finish a marathon in under four hours. Favorite fuel: Almond and apple butter with a sliced banana on top of whole wheat toast, Gatorade Endurance sports drink and Vanilla Bean GU. Favorite indulgence: Vanilla frozen yogurt with carob chips and chocolate malt balls on top. When I'm not running or doing yoga I'm: Reading, going to the movies or spending quality time with friends and family. Other interesting facts: My dad ran the first Los Angeles Marathon in 1986. After I finished my first marathon, he put his '86 medal around my neck; it's my most-prized winning.
