Amy came into the world of triathlon via her marathon training partner. Amy had no clue what an Ironman was and the idea of triathlon had never entered her mind. In fact she had only been running marathons for 1 year and prior to that her only athletic claim to fame was a 2nd place ribbon in a running event at her elementary school track meet!

Amy ran 3 marathons the first year and during a training run her training partner confessed that it had been a dream since college to do an Ironman. Amy offered to run & bike with her friend and then her friend said "if you race with me I'll pay your entry fee and buy your plane ticket." And so it began.  The great Floridian was her Ironman distance triathlon and she completed it in 2001. She has since gone on to finish 11 more Ironman and many other triathlons of varying distances. Her friend has gone on to have 3 children and work on her career.

In 2007 Amy completed an impressive variety of ultras from 50-miles to 101 miles. She has also completed well over 20 marathons.

In her spare time when not, working, training and going back to school she enjoys spending time with her family, husband Angel & daughter Emily. They are her # 1 supporters and "they are there for me at all times, no matter what I decide to take on."
