Ian has been working with athletes as a coach and instructor since his teens in his hometown of Aspen, CO. In '97 Ian's triathlon career accelerated when, in that season alone, he raced over a dozen events including the Ironman Championships in Kona. He has gone on to race more Ironmans, 1/2 Ironmans and too many other races to count.

Ian was honored as the Develop Coach of the Year by USA Triathlon for 2006. His certifications are numerous: USA Triathlon Level II Coach, USA Cycling Level II Coach, National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Fit Kit Level III and F.I.S.T certified bike fitter. In addition to his roll with the LA Tri Club, he has also been head coach of the "AARP/USAT Tri-Umph!" program and initiated the Team in Training triathlon program here in Los Angeles. Ian is also the head coach for the Triathletix Junior Team. Ian has been coaching triathlon full time for almost a decade and assists athletes on all levels: consultation, program design, private and group swim lessons, bike fit, run gait analysis, and more.

Ian resides with his wife, Alexandra, in Pacific Palisades, CA.
